Our 16-Stage Manufacturing Process

A step-by-step journey from raw steel to a flawless, export-ready safety pin.

1. Raw Material Inspection

Every coil of high-carbon steel and brass wire undergoes spectrometer testing to ensure metallurgical purity before entering the factory floor.

2. Wire Selection & Drawing

Wires are drawn down to precise micro-millimeters depending on the pin series, ensuring the perfect balance of flexibility and strength.

3. Wire Straightening

Heavy-duty mechanical straighteners remove all coil memory from the wire, creating perfectly linear rods ready for automated cutting.

4. Precision Wire Cutting

High-speed automated cutters shear the straightened wire into exact lengths required for specific pin sizes (e.g., 000 to 4).

5. Point Grinding & Sharpening

The tips are mechanically ground using diamond-coated abrasives to achieve a burr-free, needle-sharp point that will not snag fabrics.

6. Coil Forming

The center of the wire is mechanically twisted to form the spring coil, giving the safety pin its essential tension and rebound.

7. Pin Bending

The wire is folded back onto itself, aligning the sharp point precisely with where the head assembly will eventually be attached.

8. Head Manufacturing

In a separate process, metal sheets are stamped into the iconic safety pin head (the shielding cap) using high-tonnage hydraulic presses.

9. Head Assembly

Automated clamping machines perfectly align and crimp the manufactured head onto the blunt end of the bent wire.

10. Heat Treatment

Assembled steel pins are passed through high-temperature industrial furnaces to harden the metal, significantly increasing tensile strength.

11. Polishing (Tumbling)

Pins are tumbled in large rotary drums with specialized media and polishing compounds to remove any microscopic burrs or sharp edges.

12. Electroplating

Pins undergo advanced electrolytic plating (Nickel or Brass) in chemical vats to provide a brilliant finish and critical rust resistance.

13. Final Cleaning & Drying

Plated pins are ultrasonically cleaned to remove chemical residues and passed through centrifugal hot-air dryers.

14. Quality Inspection

Random batches undergo tensile, sharpness, and salt-spray testing. Optical sorters remove any mechanically deformed pins.

15. Automated Packaging

Pins are counted and packaged into retail boxes, gross bunches, or blister packs depending on OEM or wholesale requirements.

16. Export Dispatch

Master cartons are palletized, wrapped in moisture barriers, and loaded into shipping containers directly from our warehouse.

Premium Raw Materials

The quality of a safety pin begins with the metallurgical integrity of its wire.

High Carbon Steel

Provides exceptional tensile strength and spring retention. It is the global standard for industrial, garment, and heavy-duty retail safety pins.

Solid Brass

Naturally rust-proof and softer than steel. Ideal for highly humid environments, premium laundry applications, and delicate textiles.

Nickel Coating

Our standard steel plating. It provides a bright silver finish and acts as a sacrificial barrier against corrosion and rust.

Gold Finish

A premium aesthetic plating used primarily for retail boutiqes, craft applications, and high-end garment tags.

Quality is Built-In, Not Just Inspected

Unlike manufacturers who only test the final product, Suvik Overseas integrates Quality Control directly into the manufacturing pipeline. From the moment the raw coil arrives to the final container seal, our ISO 9001:2015 certified process ensures that defects are caught immediately, guaranteeing that only world-class safety pins leave our factory.

Manufacturing FAQs

How many safety pins do you manufacture daily?
Our automated facility is capable of producing millions of safety pins per day across various sizes and series, allowing us to easily handle massive global POs.
Which materials do you use in manufacturing?
We primarily use premium high-carbon steel wire for strength, and solid brass wire for 100% rust-proof applications. Both materials are rigorously tested before production.
Do you support OEM and Private Label production?
Yes, over 60% of our factory's output is dedicated to OEM manufacturing. We can customize the product, plating, and retail packaging to feature your exact brand identity.
Can international buyers visit the factory?
We highly encourage it! We welcome importers, distributors, and wholesale buyers to visit our facility in India for a complete guided tour of our automated production lines.
What quality inspections are performed during manufacturing?
We perform 13 distinct quality checks, including wire diameter verification, tensile strength testing, locking mechanism testing, and 72-hour salt spray corrosion testing.
How long does a production run take?
Standard wholesale orders typically take 2-4 weeks to manufacture. Custom OEM orders requiring bespoke retail packaging may require an additional 1-2 weeks for initial setup.
Do you manufacture custom sizes?
Yes. While we produce standard global sizes (000, 00, 0, 1, 2, 3, 4), our engineering team can retool our machinery to produce custom lengths and wire gauges upon request.
What packaging options are available from the factory?
Our packaging lines are highly flexible. We offer bulk loose packaging, traditional 1-Gross bunches, retail plastic boxes, blister packs, and custom branded cardboard cartons.
